IF - Celebrate

Here is my submission for Illustration Friday. It was a painting I had done last year. The Citgo sign is a famous landmark in Boston. It's high up over a block of buildings in Kenmore square and can be seen from Fenway Park. I have happy memories of seeing the sign lit at night while driving home from Boston. I was a little girl in the car with my family. I was a teenager coming home from a night out with friends. I was a college student writing papers on works in the Museum of Fine Arts. I was in my 20's having dinner with a special person. (Umm...no we didn't look like that. It's very idealized!)

Whenever I go to Boston now, I'm still excited seeing the sign lit up at night. I love that sign!
