IF - Poise

Here is my submission for this week's Illustration Friday.
It's not a new painting, but I thought it appropriate for the word poise.

Breezy Painting

Did you ever work on a piece that you couldn't wait to be done with? That was the case here. I felt like doing it over completely, but just kept plugging away. Even so, when I make myself finish something even though I am not really loving it, I always learn from it. (Granted, sometimes you have no choice; it must get done.) Anyway, feel free to critique.

Weaving Fun

For the next nine weeks, I will be working with fifth and sixth graders as a visiting artist. Above is the first project. They are woven bookmarks done on a cardboard loom.

The next project is a drawstring pouch:

I made these samples, but I plan to post pictures of the students' work at my other blog.

IF - Legendary

Here is a scratch board illustration for this week's Illustration Friday prompt, "legendary." My third grade teacher was legendary. On occasion, she would take a student out for a hot fudge sundae if they did something she deemed deserving. One day the class was stumped on a math problem. She promised a hot fudge sundae to the first with the solution. It was a lucky day for me!

IF - Sketch for Breezy

Here is a sketch for Illustration Friday. Stuck on a color scheme for night time. Need to play around with more color ideas. Feedback welcome.
