Dessert Painting

Here is the painting I did for the sketch from the last post. It was done on wood, which is not yielding the happiest of results for me. It takes some getting used to as the paint doesn't flow as it does on paper because the gouache becomes absorbed into the material. I tried an underpainting of Acryla gouache which seems to work a little better than regular gouache.

Here's to more experimenting.

What an awesome painting Ann Marie. The bear's expression is awesome! It's wonderful to experiment!

Teaching Art there was always the process vs. product issue. I think both are important but I can't help it I am a sucker for the product and your painting is great.

Thanks, Jen! One of the reasons for painting on wood, for me, is the product--the physical thing. I am all about process, too, though...still working on that regarding wood.

I really like the idea of painting on wood, this looks amazing to me. Is the entire sketch painted? I really love the sketch. It's cute and funny and i guess i just really love your style.
