IF - Island Painted

Finally! Here is my painting of Island for Illustration Friday. I wasn't happy with the first painting and started over again. This is done in gouache.

Btw - sea turtles are an endangered species. And they are incredibly charming...to me! Just look at this picture.

Illustration Friday - Island

This is my first post for my illustration blog and also my first submission to Illustration Friday. I only had time for a sketch, but will be painting it during the next few days. The subject is a girl sending a sea turtle back into the ocean. Here is an earlier sketch that I cropped down. Am still undecided about which I like better:
