Happy New Year

Happy 2009!

Yes, I am a bit late with this. I have been removed from the blog world for a while. Sorry to say that my new year did not start out so happy. It started with a death in our family--and other difficult things happening simultaneously.

Even so, I do not believe in "bad" years or even "bad" days. It's all about moments; even in grief there are moments of happiness.

So, today I am embracing 2009. I'm looking forward to to working on the resolutions and goals I've set. I have 21. They are listed under three categories:
  1. Health/Wellness/Spiritual
  2. Professional
  3. Home/Family
Here's one from each:

Health/Wellness/Spiritual - Improve fitness level. Exercise at least 3-4 times/week for 1.5 hours. (I've been letting other things get in the way.)
Professional - Have a website up and running by the end of May. (That's when my web design class ends.)
Home/Family - Be greener. (Made some changes in past couple of years, but could do better.)

About the last one, I am playing around with ideas for recycling plastic bags as art/craft. I made plastic bag yarn to be used for crochet or weaving. Today I am going to try fusing plastic bags. If you are interested, here is a great link at craftzine.

The idea of doing this is suddenly making resolutions feel like fun. The beginning of the year made me forget about fun. I remember now! Creative exploration equals: f-u-n!

Here's to more fun in 2009!

Good for you Ann Marie - it's great that you're mixing some fun resolutions in with the more challenging ones. Be sure to share some pictures of what you do with the plastic bags - it definitely sounds interesting!

I've given you an award over on my blog - it also means you've been 'tagged'. Read the details there.

Great resolutions Ann Marie. I'm sorry that you've had a rough time of it lately, but from what I've seen of you at our meetings, you are resilient, and determined, and things will fall into place for you! (And I'll be able to say, "Oh yes, I knew her when ...") :-)
