Must-See Monday: Klee's Layers

Sonnenuntergang (Sunset), 1930
Oil and pencil on primed canvas

Lately, I have been looking at Paul Klee's work and I was struck by this painting. In 1930, he was thinking about layers on flat planes, much the way contemporary artists think about layers in this digital age. Ahead of his time indeed!
